Senior Executive Assistant

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Berkeley, CA

Company Overview

At Renasant Bio, we are driven by a simple goal: to change what’s possible for patients with kidney disease. ADPKD remains one of the most challenging areas in medicine, and we believe it requires bold thinking, rigorous science, and a team committed to doing things differently.

We’re looking for individuals who bring both scientific rigor and creativity to hard problems, and who believe great work is built through respectful, direct collaboration. You communicate with honesty and transparency, adapt quickly as priorities evolve, and hold yourself—and others—to a high standard. Above all, you operate with urgency and purpose, grounded in the knowledge that patients are waiting.

Based at Bakar Labs in Berkeley, CA, we are advancing new therapies designed to make a meaningful difference for patients.

The Role

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO to provide high-impact support in a fast-paced startup environment.

This role is primarily focused on enabling the CEO to operate at maximum effectiveness—managing a complex and evolving calendar, coordinating travel, triaging communications, and ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day priorities.

In addition to core executive support, this individual will play a broader role in company operations, helping coordinate board and investor activities and supporting select operational functions such as HR and external vendor management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who excels in a traditional EA role and is interested in growing into a more operational or strategic position over time.

This role is 70–80% executive support with 20–30% exposure to broader operational initiatives, with the opportunity to expand scope over time. This is a hybrid position, requiring at least three days a week onsite.

  • Draft and send follow-up communications on behalf of the CEO, including with investors and external stakeholders

  • Anticipate needs and proactively address issues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Board & Investor Coordination

  • Own scheduling and logistics for board meetings and investor interactions

  • Coordinate preparation and distribution of board materials

  • Track action items and ensure timely follow-up

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Support coordination with external partners, including HR consultants, legal counsel, and other vendors

  • Assist with basic HR and administrative processes as needed

  • Help manage contracts, documentation, and internal tracking systems

Team & Company Support

  • Act as a central point of coordination across leadership, project managers, and external stakeholders

  • Support internal communication and ensure alignment on key activities

  • Step in to support ad hoc projects and company needs as they arise

  • Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong follow-through
